What is an HTML file?
HTML is the markup language of the web, maintained by WHATWG as a living standard. Pages mix content with navigation, scripts and styling.
Converting HTML to Markdown keeps the content (headings, paragraphs, links, lists, code and emphasis) and drops scripts and styles. That is useful for moving articles into a static-site generator, a wiki or a notes app. ConvertCove uses Turndown for this.
