    What is a ZIP file?

ZIP was introduced by Phil Katz’s PKWARE in 1989. Each file inside is compressed independently (usually with DEFLATE), and a central directory at the end lists the contents. Windows, macOS and Linux open ZIP files without extra software.

ConvertCove can pack any files into a ZIP and extract ZIP archives in your browser. Password-protected (encrypted) ZIPs are not supported.
