What is an SVG file?
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a W3C standard from 2001 that describes images as XML shapes, paths, gradients and text. It renders sharply at any size and is usually tiny for logos, icons and diagrams.
Many platforms, including social networks, email clients and office suites, will not accept SVG uploads, partly because SVG files can contain scripts. Rasterising to PNG or JPG at the size you need solves that.

Set a width in the options before converting: ConvertCove draws the vector directly at that size, so large exports stay crisp.
